I don't argue that point at all

That's why I made the statement, "Nor would it be an issue if One Care had no access to the kernel."

This would not be an issue if Microsoft hadn't made the choice to block their competition from doing what they're doing.

I don't disagree that opening the kernel can cause problems, but if they don't want to open the kernel to outside security vendors, it shouldn't be open to their own security product, either. That's called unfair advantage.

The question was asked by bmeyer9981 (although not in so many words), why should Microsoft grant access to the kernel to outside vendors? I answered that question directly.

Honestly, I wouldn't find an issue with this (and I doubt the EU would, either) if Microsoft were to remove their links to the kernel from One Care and still refuse to offer access to their security competitors. I don't see that happening, though.
