Why should they?
I don't get it. Microsoft closes off the kernel to everybody so nobody can get to it to cause problems.
Now the security companies want Microsoft to open up the kernel with APIs so that they can get access to it. If you open it for the security companies you open it for everybody else. Its a little ironic that the security companies are the ones asking for this to happen.
I support Microsoft with not getting the APIs out till after RTM. This will give Microsoft a chance to see how well blocking access to the kernel will keep Vista secure. I don't think anybody should have access to the kernel except Microsoft. Its their product they should decide who should get access to it.
