People write down passwords?? whats new!
Since at least 1960 people have been writing down paswords. Its either that or the name of their cat or first botfriend/girlfriend.
"OnOldOlympusToweringTopsaFinandaGermanviewedahop" may be a good password or even a PGP passphrase, but most of us are so poor at typing that we will mess it up. (I used it once and did mess it up! BTW its a way of remembering the Cranial Nerves for physiology exam and I can't even spell that now!)
Wa0q7J2H8 type of password really has to be written down, but not on a postit note on the monitor.
I can remember an office in which the key to a "top secret" safe was kept in a keepress and that key was in a Tampax packet in the Chief Clerks unlocked desk! There are now IT versions of the same thing, password vault, with an obvious password.
