"if Linux was on top the problem would be even worse" is flawed logic. The availability of source code doesn't represent a bigger opportunity to find vulnerabilities and there is no evidence to support the idea.

The reality is that easiest target usually gets the most attention and numbers mean nothing. If your involved in security you would begin to realize this.
