IT (IN) security is here to stay! Are you?
I have been into IT since 1961 (STRETCH & Fortran-2) and each year/decade has made it easier to break into IT systems and "recover data."
Keyloggers (sw & hw)Trojans, TEMPEST, Optical TEMPEST and the good old "ThreeBS" (Bribery, Blackmail and Beatings) to get insider co-operation have all made it easier to insiders or external hackers to copy/alter "Secret" information.
Personally, I find all aspects of "data recovery" get easier with each passing year, but perhaps this is due to an increase in knowledge on my part.
But I firmly believe that if you have "secret data" its best to avoid putting it on any IT system. A 1000 page "Top Secret" book in a safe is difficult to copy, the same as a file on a PC shouldn't present all that great a problem if you can get some access to the system (Cleaning staff???), or can apply the "3Bs" to suitable members of staff. 1Gig USB devices are so small now and cheap and hardware keyloggers are under 200 USD by mail order to give obvious examples.
