Is piracy that bad?
Sym - 1.2 million customers x's $49.95 (NAV2004)...
M$ = $49 billion...
I always hear about this piracy crap and copy protection but how much is it really hurting MS, SYM, or any of the other big software companies? Did piracy bring Corel to it's knees? If I grew a software company to 49bil bucks with piracy in the background I'd say go ahead, pirates ALWAYS find a way around copy protection or what ever is in the way anyways. Same way with the music thing, I kept hearing that the "poor hard working artists" are getting screwed, they don't get the money anyways it all goes to everyone else that helps get the music out to the public. I can see it being a problem if some one was making 100's of copies and selling it for half the normal price but the only thing this has done was hurt the regular people that play by the rules.
