What happens when you treat customers like thieves
I'm sorry, but I'm not surprised about this at all. At work, we either buy the volume licensing for these products, where activation isn't required, or different vendors' products altogether. At home, I refuse to upgrade to XP or use Norton, because PA feels more like punishment than protection.

Software companies are within their rights (and the responsibility to their stockholders) to do something to curb piracy, but this is the wrong approach. How many of these users will now switch to different vendors' AV products (barring the ones that think Norton is the only thing in the world)? I would, even if I couldn't get a refund for the Norton stuff.
