I know that AVG has its detractors, but I've used this at home for several years. It does everything I want it to, is easy to live with, and just generally a good thing.

As far as the critics "in the know" go, what a bunch of nut cases they usually are. Remember when Intel introduced the slotted CPU because the socket couldn't do the job? Remember all those reviewers who agreed that the socket was dead. Didn't any of the pros suspect it was just a marketting ploy to get rid of upstarts like AMD and Cyrix?

Check out No Nags, Son of Spy, Freeware Home, and the like before you spend big bucks on bugs.
