Smart or dumb won't fix the holes in MS code!
There is no protection against hacks that target poorly written code.

If MS would address the real issue of flawed code, we wouldn't be reading about hacks. No one is hacking security, they don't have to. They are hacking areas where there are no security measures available. ie. Buffer overflow attacks can not be prevented by security tools. The code has to be fixed. You can dead bolt the door, but if there is a hole in your wall, no crook is going to worry about your locks. And while you buying more padlocks, he's stealing you blind. These are facts and not conclusions. Ask Bill Gates point blank about this issue. Ask him what tool he has that will stop a buffer overflow attack. Only fixing the code itself!
