Linux has nice easy to understand GUIs too. Most
distributions have their own custom GUIs, but
webmin can be used on just about all distros,
plus it has the added feature of letting a system
admin configure your security (and just about
every other kind of) settings over the LAN.

You have to be just as knowledgable in security
in Windows as in Linux, no more and no less.
