A myth. I agree.
Maybe Apple is more secure. I don't see that based on the actual numbers but my question is what good is a MAC? Apple doesn't have a usable server product to use with them so they can never be more than a workstation on another vendor's network. Since it makes zero business sense to buy proprietary hardware, they are not adopted in the business sector except in small niche areas. Bottom line is what your system does for your business at the end of the day. Windows may not be the most secure OS going, true it didn't just copy the pre-hardened Unix OS which the feds bought and paid for, but then Apple and Linux didn't either. It was merely serendipitous and pure luck it's paying off now. Yet the Apple and linux shills talk like they had something to do with it, or even their beloved, so called, inventors. Apple obviously bought their original OS from PARC and had nothing to do with designing the GUI nor the mouse interfaces. Linux is nothing more than a derivative of Unix. So why the pissing contest? What's this boil down too?
Apple is the most proprietary software company in the world, bar none. So why the whining leftist, big government, standardize the world shills seem to back Apple is beyond me. It might be the OS common thread but then that means they are outright hypocrits since all code should be shared. Ah, that's the answer. Anyway, apple makes no business sense. What MS did make is the most productive OS in the world with by far the most easiest to maintain server software on the market and desktops that are easy to install, upgrade and use. That's what people are really looking for. They don't care about IT geeks that venture to a million websites per day who need to worry about infection. If you use any PC smartly, you'll never have a problem. I use mine, at work, to get work done and the unix system we used to have was such a hassle to deal with and nothing ran on it and you had to try and fanangle 3rd party vendors to get this and that....BS. Windows is solid and there just isnt' any OS that approaches the productivity software it runs, nor approaches the development platforms it provides. Unless you've written .NET code for an enterprise application or for any other useful purpose you simply can't know the side of the MS OS that is heads and shoulders above anyone. I've tried to write the same code on Unix with C/C++ and I can tell you there is no comparison. You can get a much more robust app done, fully secure, in about 1/10th the time with .NET and with 100% more productivity enhancing features.
Being a reasonable user, having a firewall and perhaps ISA Server (knock that one down..) and you have no more to worry about than a MAC or linux shop. Actually less since your OS has been the object of state sponsored terrorism. Myth. Yeah. What country has put state money into bringing down the Apple OS? MS stands for America around the world and you are dogmatic enough to think MS is not targeted about 10000% more often?
That's why they are laughing.
