Microsoft Damage Control
Another week, another round of damage control by Microsoft . It's one thing to build non secure, average software, and charge premium prices for it. It's another thing to try and quell the uproar by holding a monthly "Patch Tuesday" to supposedly address known flaws in your non secure, average software. It's a total embarrassment when 3rd party companies now release patches for your flaws before you can, forcing you to react with a patch of your own on a non "Patch Tuesday" day. And don't even get me started on Microsoft's effort to be your security vendor by effectively locking out companies like Symantec & McAfee , companies that have a long history of providing effective security.

So much for Microsoft's "Trustworthy Computing" initiative. Did they really announce this initiative in January 2002? It's amazing how time flies when your building non secure, average software, some of which still hasn't made it out the door. I should be keep track of how many times I shake my head in disbelief as I write this.

Not disbelief at Microsoft or any of their lies. Disbelief at how stupid and gullible we've all become in regards to Microsoft. We just keep buying their non secure average software thereby allowing them to keep building more of it. Not a lot of choices? Very true 10 years ago, even 5 years ago. Not so true now. Now we have no excuse, except that we've become sheep, and Microsoft is the shepard.

This much I know to be true. I will not support them any more. I will not buy anymore of their products unless forced to by gutless PC manufacturers, or by Microsoft's lack of support for existing products. I'm Guessing my current PC is good for at least 3 more years. Hopefully by that time, there will be real alternatives. Until then I am voting with my hard earned money, and voting NO to Microsoft. Can you say baaaaaaaaa?
