How long should ANY company
be it software or something altogether different, support it's older products? 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, years?

With automobiles, after X amount of time a manufacturer stops producing parts for it, the aftermarket companies kick in.

Sounds like the same thing is happening here, so why should this be looked at any differently then the auto industry?
