I assume that this only works with Windows. I read an earlier report that
this attack failed because the reporter was using Linux on her laptop. And, further is this an Outlook bug that allows this, or just something with Windows? Would this work with webmail, like gmail or yahoo?

Well, there are lots of reasons to NOT use Windows, and the list is growing.
