Monopolies are bound by different rules.
I would suggest that you look up the laws regarding competition and monopolies (any economic block: US, UE/EC, Asia (any), etc.) Further, this is the largest market in the world (larger than the US) and a major market for Software (one of the top 10, they have been nailed in 4 of these).

Microsoft is not some flea developer (a claim that you appear to hold) but rather one of the most successful and largest software companies in the world. They only avoided a breakup on their home turf (US) because the Appeals Court rejected the break-up order (the only part that did not stand from Judge Thomas Penfield Jacksons Findings of Fact and Findings of Law. For reference, Judge Jackson found that Microsoft holds monopoly power in the market for PC Operating Systems, so effectively Microsoft is the Ma Bell of PC Operating Systems in the US.
