They have Live CDs all over the place. Just boot from it and try it out, reboot without the CD and your back to windows. Read about the security methods.

Knowing the code? Hackers probably already have Windows code. What good does that do people if MS's biggest security tactic is obscurity & denial. Have you forgotten that the government actully did some thing useful for once and sponsered a OSS bug hunt. With a good portion of the OSS commumity it is a matter of pride to fix bugs as well and as fast as they can. With dedication like that it will be "bullet proof" sooner rather than latter.

PS Just because I know how sandstone is formed, doesn't mean I can walk through it.
