Think about it . . .
Microsoft is doing (as a company) what many people do. They have effected a martyr persona.

Think about it.

You know the person in the office (perhaps even someone in your IT department) that waits until the last minute to do everything, has a loyal following of users who also come to them at the last minute to "beg" a favor.

The martyr swoops in, pulls an all-nighter, skips lunch, or engages in some other gradiose life altering event, saves the day and then talks about it every time they turn around.

To some they are a savior, to others they are a pain. Some see them as the one who fixes "everything" and others see that they create 99% of the problems that they solve.

And it's understandable why they do it. They solve a problem and everyone sees them as a hero, pats them on the back, gives them a nice raise (or insert other benefit) and they walk down the halls like Christ almighty.

Meanwhile, you sit there day after day doing your job, working ahead, keeping everything up to date, not bothering anyone, and making sure that everyone has what they need in order to do their job. And nobody notices your existence, or if they do, it's in passing, and to the Martyr about how you "messed them up".

Apply that scenario to Microsoft and you'll find that that is how they operate.

Apple has always "worked ahead" and solved problems before they become problems. And they have worked as quietly as possible behind the scenes to ensure that your system is up and running 24/7.

Very rarely does a Mac go down, very rarely does a problem come up that "no one every thought about". The Mac slogan seems to be "fix it before anyone notices it, it's our job."

The Microsoft work ethic is to wait till someone notices, then whine REALLY LOUDLY so everyone notices, then pretend that it's someone elses fault, but volunteer to clean up their mess, then half-a$$ a solution.

Why? "Because that's how we make sure everyone knows that our job is important."
