My ID was stolen by a BofA Employee
A credit card account was opened in my name by a BofA employee when I went in to make a deposit, without my knowledge or consent, and I am still fighting to get this removed from my credit report 4 months later.

Why, you might ask, would they do this? How about a commission to tellers to open such accounts, and the ability to open them at a push of a button at the terminal without your signature! And as to the bank, how many customers do you think get the card and then start using it, leaving the bank profiting from this abuse? Way too many, I'm sure.

Amazingly, when I called to report this incident, the people I spoke with in their fraud and ID theft departments guessed exactly what had happened before they even saw the details in my file, and made it clear to me that this was a common problem. I couldn't believe my ears, and then, when I started telling a few people about it, one of them reported that the exact same thing had happened to him a year earlier! And they have done nothing AFAIK during that time to stop it - they wouldn't even agree when I asked to fire the employee who committed this crime! BofA cannot be trusted with your personal information, money or anything else...

Several years ago I caught them double-charging my monthly checking account fees (listed as different names so that you'd have to be looking at your statement closely to notice) for two or more months in a row and I had to contact them repeatedly and eventually threaten suit to get them to stop doing it and refund the money. God knows how many other people they stole from that time who didn't catch what they were doing and never got that money back...
