I just want to know the truth
Honestly, at this point, I have no idea if the things are in any way related. SecureWorks did a major f**k-up of a job of announcing their alleged vulnerability. They did it in an unprofessional and confusing manner, often contradicting themselves. Then they got all secretive and refused to share their alleged vulnerability with anyone.

So I have absolutely no idea if they were really on to something, or if they were just grandstanding to get attention. If they were really on to something, I have no idea if these flaws are the flaws they were discussing. It could be that Apple's system was more flawed than was thought--these could be in addition to the alleged flaws allegedly discovered by SecureWorks.

I just wish they were a little more straightforward about things in the first place so I knew what was going on.

As another poster noted, I can just as easily claim there's a new Windows flaw, and demonstrate it to you on a Linux machine running WINE. Then refuse to tell you any more details. The next time a Windows flaw is announced by MS, would you be willing to apologize to me?
