MS should work it out that the responsibility is on the 3rd parties
if they want the key's to turn off Vista security, they'll need to take part in resolving what happens when people uninstall or move away from their tools, like we're on track to switch from Symantec to Sophos for virus protection. Does Symantec plan to have its apps inform the OS, turn back on said base level protection, revert, or what and will the 3rd parties carry that out uniformly, or leave that segment turned off and hanging open? Best they dialog this and best that MS not throw up unnecessary barriers. If MS feels that they are leaving the system open, sobeit, just have the security feature note it to users when they opt to use something else. "Hey, remember, if you uninstall said other product, come back to turning this on if it doesn't." We all know how 'clean' an uninstall has been for some products, . . . litter loot and leave.
