Password protect software installation
..I explained that her (Linux) machine needed a password to install software...

So Joe is now down to a 3 pack, getting some emails files off work, entering his secret password, when he gets a painful email from a man in Nigeria, the attached file has all the details.


.."Why doesn't Windows do that?...

It does on Win2000, XP etc.
Same principle, an admin and then users with varying amounts of priviliges.
