You're right, I don't have answers to the questions.
The only ones who have the answers are the folks at Mozilla. They know when the bug was first reported to them. (From what I understand, security-sensitive bugs like these aren't available publicly on Bugzilla.)

"Secunia says it was reported today, fixed last night... I'd call that quick work."

Well if it was fixed last night, it certainly wasn't first reported to Mozila today; Secunia means that it was reported to the outside world today.

We have no idea how long it took from the time Mozilla first found out about it, until the release of the patch. The first post I was replying to said "too bad you got to wait a month for yours"--somewhat misleading, since we don't know how long we've been waiting for this one. Heck, we don't know how long we've been waiting for most of MS's patches either--we can only measure the "zero-day" exploits, which isn't the subject of my postings.
