Microsoft managers will error big time if they market what is known as Vista under that name. The case in this article, assuming it is settled or Microsoft looses it, will establish presidence. VistA is well known as the free open source medical records product developed from grants to the Veterans Administration.
It is time to review the money making scam well known in medical schools.
The Federal Government pays citizens 25 percent of the money recovered from the report of theft of government funds and property. The pot of gold available should Vista be marketed seriously under that name, rather than just among the IT professionals, is to attractive - especially to those from the Veterans administration who unfairly were forced from office over that bogus laptop security issue. Again the laptop was recovored and no data was accessed for identity theft.
Even Boeing gets hit with these Whistleblower suits. I encourage Microsoft to market under some other name - Longhorn perhaps. Its the right thing to do. A name is just as much property as intellectual property and Vista was taken long ago. Microsoft managers long ago were so notified. Nice news on Web Services from Microsoft. We can be cautiously optomistic.
