Microsoft is Now Funding Open Source
Recently, Microsoft quietly funded an open source elearning project, called "Moodle". In order to ensure that the growing development of Moodle would be compatible with Microsoft servers and its XML protocols, it paid the moodle.org community and its head office, moodle.com, to add compatible code to the project. I think this demonstrates that Microsoft will not only cooperate but fund open source when it is in its interests (ie: preserving market share in the server software business).
