If they recieved my address in a legal manner. How can this be? I don't allow my name on email list. I expect a verbal or written contract before getting legit email.

We have in the US a do not call list for the phone. We should have a similar thing for email but because they use organized crime methods to spam us we can't opt out, we can't press charges, we can't even beg them to stop.

Now you say because the spammers want to cry free speech, we should let them be. For starters junk mail is paid by the sender but email is paid by the receiver. If we know who is sending us we should be able to charge them for receiving it. We have to resort to spam blocking because we don't know who to charge for receiving it.

In closing I have always found that any company that sells products using spam is so increadably stupid that I don't buy their products anymore. This is how I used to answer sales calls before the do not call list.

"Let me ask you a question. Does calling people on the phone a doing a hard sales pitch to a person ever result in any sales. Cold calls are a good way to tick people off. Only an idiot would call someone, not take no for an answer, and then act as if they are totally within their rights to call you."

Cold calls and spamming are also a stupid way to do business. People that want sales info on certain products will opt-in to those email sales.

I for instance have certain vendors that I request for sales info. Oddly legit groups actually require that you make purchases every so often or they will drop you and you will have to opt-in again.
