But...But....
I thought that MS was ALWAYS on top of things and ALWAYS takes care of EVERYTHING? I thought that patch TUESDAY meant that they would fix it? Now you say that everyone is on XP so it doesn't affect them? at least 50% of the people that I have talked to in the past 7 days are on 2000 AND using Word 2000. And if you need a number that's about 400-500 people. that is an average on a per week basis. If you multiply that by 52 you get 20,800 to 26,000 people on windows 2000 that I alone talk to. Now I work with approximately 200 people in my building alone. It is not representative of how many people are in the company that I work for. They pretty much deal with the same amount of people that I do every day. Some more, some less. But if you take my average per year and multiply it by the number of people I work with you are going to get between 4,160,000 and 5,200,000 people. On WIndows 2000. With Word 2000.
Now say each and everyone of them get this 'flaw' and lose vast amounts of money because MS couldn't come up with a fix for the 'flaw' yet? Now those customers have decided to leave MS and go somewhere else. Say like to Apple, or Linux perhaps? How much revenue would MS lose because of that? If each one of those customers spent on average a dollar a day towards MS products that would be between 1.5 BILLION and 1.9 BILLION dollars a year. I don't know about you but THAT is an awful lot of money to be losing every year by not being ready for something. Or considering it a priority because they want people to upgrade?
No one would 'eat your shorts' as you put it.

Now you can kiss my booty.
