- I agree. I was responding to his line

"These are not the kind of people that should be running anything in this nation"
As in "who should be"?
My statement is that people are so quick to jump down other people's throats for every little discression that we tend to miss the big question: Have they done or said anything different then we have in our lifetimes? If I tell someone that "so and so is one hot looking babe", should someone try to twist that into I'm not faithful to my wife?
If someone describes a homosexual as "a ******" should they be labeled as a biggot, or should they be given the benifit of the doubt by the gay community and be told "I understand where you're comming from, but we prefer to be called such and such".
My freedom of speech remark was not meant to indicate that the Gov. COULDN'T remark on the subject, but to point out that a person should be allowed to say it in a manner in which he wants.
Like these boards. If someone wants to say LinSux or Micro$oft Winbloze, let them. ZDNet shouldn't force people to use "sensetive descriptions". The others on the boards will determine whether the poster gets a thoughtful response or ridicule. - Posted by: John Zern Posted on: 09/13/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
