Why not? Talk about Gutter Logic..
Should how someone phrases something, or someone who has opions of their own, be a reason not to let them run? If that's true, then no one could run as everyone has opinions, likes and dislikes.

The truth is, only people who can put their personal feelings aside on a subject and do what's right for the majority should be allowed to hold office.

Sounds like your against freedom of speech. Let the voters choose whether they approve or disprove of the remarks.
