Apple does have predictable patch cycles.
Apple's marketshare is above 4% in the USA and they do patch
regularly. Symantec is spouting FUD because while Apple may have
patched some things in Quicktime, the main reason for the update
is functionality with the new iTunes and the new products. As far as
Quicktime is concerned there's probably around an 80% market
share in that category, at least that's the marketshare they have in
the music business. Even before iTunes, Quicktime was on
hundreds of millions of computers.
