You retardation comes through in your post...
Now back to special ed class, *********.

Apple doesn't force anyone to use anything. Every consumer makes a conscious choice to use the systems and services they wish.

You can currently run a variety of operating systems on Apple hardware, including several flavors of Linux, and Windows XP and Vista. Unfortunately for Windows users, they'll need to buy a new computer to run Vista. Being able to run any one of the Big Three OS's doesn't fell limiting to me.

Yes, you can assemble a machine without an OS. Microsoft has NOTHING to do with that. Believe me, they WANT you to buy a machine from HP or Dell because they get a nice fee for licensing the OS. The MS OS DOES NOT "come with the purchase". It is included in the price of the machine. MS get's paid every time HP sells a machine running XP.

Beyond that, iTunes works with a varierty of playes other than the iPod. iTunes allows you to transfer your music from CD's to your computer and then to the player of your choice. So, I can go to ANY music store, buy a CD and rip it to my library without ever touching the iTunes Music Store.

As for your statement about the OLD PC days with proprietary hardware and software...we're actually heading back in that direction. WTF do you think the Zune is? It's an attempt to replicate Apple's closed system. You know why? Because it works SO WELL! Too bad MS will screw it up just like every other market they have tried to enter and dominate for the last 10 years.

It's really a shame you're too stupid and closed-minded to realize the power and flexibility of the Apple platform. You're really missing out!
