Dont use passwords
It would better for target businesses to find better means than passwords for people to authenticate themselves. My bank (www.ubs.ch) issues Smartcards and little pocket calculators that include a Smartcard reader. When I connect to the bank, they send me a challenge to enter on the calculator, this is processed by my (unique, PIN protected) smartcard, and displays the code to enter on the website. So there is no password for me to "accidentally" hand to a phisher.

(Yes I am aware that this system could theoretically be compromised by a sophisticated man-in-the-middle attack, but that would be very much harder for a phisher to arrange, and would require the phisher to do the evil deed in real time).
