Often there is much better stuff from Indies for free download.

Or speaking as a person with his own band, why not support you local musicians directly. Most sell CD's right after the show.

The biggest myth in the industry is that music piracy hurts the musician. Unless they produce thier own album the industry doesn't work this way.

The music industry hurts far more musicians and singers than it helps. If they can't market you they ignore you.

What this is really about isn't the recording industry vs the pirates, it is about major labels vs the artist realeasing their own material.

If they can make all downloaded songs require DRM then bands like mine will only be able market at our shows. We won't be able to put mp3's on our web site or on Indie sites.

Let's not let the recording industry hurt the average musician this way.
