First off, it's not secure at all. It never has been and never will be. Yet they seem to be allowing downloads, just the same.

Second, what about eMusic, the #2 music download site, which features zero DRM? And don't make claims about "unknown garage bands" unless you consider Johnny Cash and Ray Charles to be unknowns.

Third is the incredibly stupid reasoning behind the mindset. Why, why, why demand that downloaded songs are laden with DRM and then sell the exact same song at higher bandwidth on CD with no DRM whatsoever? Doesn't this immediately defeat the purpose of having DRM on the downloads? If the DRM is there to keep the song out of p2p networks, why are you also selling the song with no DRM on cd, knowing full well that it will reach the p2p networks that way?
