RE: Don't get delusional
>>...Linux has security problems just the same as
windows, although they get patched quicker I have
seen times that it has taken several days to a
week to get a patch from upstream...<<

I use Linux at home. Can you point to an
exploited vulnerability which affected home
users?

>>...As far as rebooting its not necessary as it
is in Windows but you still need to restart the
updated program/daemon or you are still running
of the old binary that is still running in ram
and the upgrade was pointless...<<

Still a lot faster than rebooting, and more
convenient. I am not sure I understand the point
you are trying to make. Could you enlighten me?

>>...As far as commercial programs they usually
run fine if you RTFM and install it on the proper
OS and version. For example Installing on
RHEL4-U3-i386-AS instead of RHEL4-U4-i386-AS...<<

If the commercial app was properly written, that
would not and should not be an issue. Firefox,
Mozilla, Konqueror, Epiphany will install almost
anywhere. Why can't commercial software that we
pay a hefty premium for do the same? Or is that
an unreasonable expectation? And if so, why?
