Linux has distros which require little training
The Ernie Ball Guitar string company is a pretty large company that switched from MS to Linux.

They only needed one Windows PC for the Accountant. The rest just switched from MS Office to OpenOffice.

They interviewed the President and asked about the time and cost to switch. He stated that using cloning tools they had the company switched over in a long weekend and that it took only one day for the users to be able to use OpenOffice.

Their cost went down dramatically even the 1st quarter.

They asked him if it was hard for him to change, he stated that he is almost computer illiterate and after 2 days he forgot they changed systems.

This was like 2 years ago. The Linux distros have dramatically improved since then.

Ubuntu Linux is a wonder. When I slide the hard drive draw out for Linux and slide in the drawer for Windows my heart sinks because I know I am going to an inferior system.

Thankfully I only have to run Windows for about 20% of the time when doing advanced macro work in Excel. Also QuickBooks doesn't have a alternate Linux prog yet.
