Not an XML issue
It's not XML that's the problem, it's a "let's open our applications to the outside" problem. The point of this encapsulation was to get by firewalls. Gee, and you don't think that's a problem? Let's multiplex everything over one port so it's easy to maintain the firewall! Whoever couldn't see the hazards in that shouldn't have worked on implementing this.
