Microsoft fixes troubled IE patch

Won't touch Vista with a 10 foot pole.

This is just freekin' ridiculous. Microsoft claims to be writing much more secure code. Vista contains a completely re-written TCP-IP stack.

That stack has already been shown to contain bugs that were fixed in other stacks over 10 years ago (e.g. the "Ping of Death").

Yet as that bug and this IE patch bug show, Microsoft cannot even write a small code segment without a buffer overrun. Don't they have automated testing programs by now? Don't they enforce their use?
