Plain ignorance of Different OS Architectures
Quote:
The only reason security isn't an issue for Apple or linux is because most people don't use them, so why bother with making worms or viruses for a small minority? /Quote

>Even if desktop Linux will go mainstream, it is very hard for hackers or their virus codes to work in Mac(BSD), or Linux environments. It is because of the architecture of Linux. While Windows have so many flaws in its Architecture and I am using it for 6 years and I am using Linux for the past few months only. And what I saw is a big difference. Malware programmers will find hard to port their codes in Linux because of the Linux overall Architecture. Windows is such an easy target not because it is only popular, but it is very easy for anyone to put a trojan or any malwares in it even on patched Windows PCs. Windows heavy reliance on file extensions, active X in IE + Outlook, wide system access by default (Administrative access) and other poor methods of implementing system policies make it an easy target for distributing malwares. Not so in Linux.

YOu are right on one thing, Linux is borring when you don't know how to USE THE CONSOLE.
There are alternative GUIs for you, try Xandros instead.
