well it can...and it can't..
think of the bias that surrounds these boards, be it from yourself, or even myself. Think about people listening to this "Prominent Security Organization", whose going to step up and say they are biased to MS, Linux, OSX, etc? I doubt there will ever be a time that we all agree on this organization you speak of. How many times have we seen "they are just trying to sell their product by FUD"? So in essence it will only work for those few who decide to listen to the report, others wont respect the opinion of said organization. Then we have people who will remain unmentioned because they get their jollies when "someone mentions them by name" who will lead the normal users to see it for what it is, but not know any different, or how stupid and wrong their statement is. There's no middle ground in what you offer, unfortunately. To some it will not fail, to others it will, it's just a fact of life, and these boards prove it day in and day out.
