Re: It works both ways,..
Right now I'm sure I have dz. of encrypted files on my system all of them from work, unlike the people in our gov. that bring work home unencrypted, I encrypt all of the files I bring home that are important to my Co. I have also burned these files to CD, DVD etc for years but do you relay think I have all the keys fore these anymore.. some, but not most. Now if I don't give the keys to all these files to the police does that mean I am hiding something?

What about the 5th (U.S.A. issue) even if I did do something bad, wrong, not right etc, even if not the crime I'm accused of, wouldn't me giving the keys up violate my 5th amendment right as the information would be only obtainable by me?

Ok, so lets say the laws now says that if I don't give the keys up then I MUST be guilty. What if you are wrong?? I will not even go into how many people are in prison only to find out years later the it was not them.. or the whole death-row thing

I have software on my computers that will let me encrypt a file in an encrypted file and with the first key you will still never be able to prove that there is still an encrypted file in it, how would you handle that??

To me if some body had enough proof that that I did do something wrong that the court would force me to give up MY keys I would have to believe that they have enough information to bring me to trial, if not I think they are just fishing!

Finally, if I am convicted of a grave crime, yes I should forfeit all my rights, If I am accused of a grave crime this is when you will find you will need to have access to ALL your rights else just legalize lynching again!
