Ummm slight differece here!
This system was activly compromised by a human using a computer, which means they had to work at getting in. This wasn't some simple script that runs rampant through the network compromising systems.

Another thing, I am a bit disappointed in the Gnome folks for not keeping their own systems current. Shame on the admin for that.

No system is 100% secure, but any version of *NIX is more secure than any current offering from Microsoft.
