Wow
Wow, your whole argument falls flat on its face when you consider that your numbers for holes Apple patched are so far off that the only explanation is that you must be living on another planet or something.

I will do your homework for you and count the holes that Apple fixed this year alone. Be right back...

Ok, counted them. 91 holes patches *this year alone*. And don't think they are mostly trivial. Most are serious, expoitable flaws.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61798

(you actually have to click on the little linky things on the Apple page. Each one of the items in the table takes to another page, most with multiple holes patched.

So...

"Apple also patched about 10 or so previously in the year"

...lol. You seriously need to educate yourself before you make dumb statements like that.

And also...

"I've not run the #'s, but I bet Apple has fewer patches than MS for 2006"

Maybe you should run the numbers. You would save yourself some embarrassment. Apple has been patching a lot of high severity holes lately. Its only saving grace is its pathetically low marketshare numbers.

Also, for some more education in this matter, read this article:

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6101226.html

Here is the choice quote:

"Day told silicon.com: "Microsoft has the biggest bull's-eye on it but there's a lot of interest in Apple right now. There have been more vulnerabilities discovered in OS X than in XP over the past two years."

Day said 95 vulnerabilities have been discovered in XP during that time compared to 238 in OS X."

This from an expert in the field.

Maybe this is my main problem with the Mac. It's uninformed, know-it-all userbase.
