Like I Care!
Nice response. DOS attacks, virii spreading, and virii attacking will cause a much larger slowdown on a network than anything XP SP1 might cause (and, I might add, not everyone has experienced that particular problem).

You want your network to really scream? Turn off your firewall, your antivirus software, and your email gateway; shut off DHCP and NAT and give all your PCs direct IP addresses on the 'net. It'll scream ... for a few minutes, after which your users will be the ones screaming.

Attitudes such as yours are WHY virii and other such nasties propagate so quickly and proficiently.

Please at least consider installing security patches as they are released, if you don't want to take on the full SP. If not, please switch to an OS that is currently more secure and less of a target, for your own good as well as the rest of ours.
