Corporate vs. Home Users
That's great that you turn off ActiveX for your users. You should. But remember, home users and most small businesses don't have an IT department to tell them to do that or show them how to do that, and home users and small businesses are MS's biggest stronghold. That's why it's important for it to be secure by default. Businesses that need ports opened up for them to share files or run scripts generally have the necessary IT support to help them do that.
