I would agree with your point of view under ONEcondition: MS will stay
the course and NOT just give up and revert back to their "business as usual" practices of building fancy looks and not investing in design and solid implementation.

This IS the first time MS appears to be working in the right direction. This is a high-level policy change which has to 'trickle down' to the developers. To me seems a very radical change in attitude and all this pressure to release 'at last' Vista may thwart this effort.


But these should worry MS users. I want better MS since this puts pressure to UNIX/Linux get even better.
