Vista improvements
BTW, the smilees are really smug and irritating...

-User Account control
-Unified HAL
-single multi-language image
-improved imaging tools
-new driver model
-improved kernel performance, security and isolation
-bitlocker
-hot patching
-MSI 4
-WCF
-XML event log/event triggers
-proactive health monitoring
-dramatically improved MMC
-desktop search
-new IP stack with dynamic windowing and IPV6 native
-tons of new GPO

This is just off the top of my head. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you because you're a zealot. But Ill do a little proactive arguing before I go:

1) dont bother pointing out how some of these features have 3rd party availability today because thats irrelevant - there is value over Win XP in *not needing* third party tools to provide the functionality

2) dont bother taking pot shots speculating on how these things "wont work well" because, again, thats specious. You say you want to know what new features are compelling, so dont change the argument to "I think they wont work"

3) anyone whose argument is that "Vista may look "cooler"" isnt really worth debating. You obviously made up your mind without doing any research at all and have an axe to grind.

At least take the time to make reasoned arguments (free of emotional exaggeration), if you're going to demand the same in return.

And of course, ALL of this is off topic.
