Credit when it is due.
As a web developer I am not a big MS fan by any stretch of the imagination.

But I am the first to give credit when it is due. For MS to challange the blackhatters shows they are actually willing to finally (and as in their better early to mid '90s days) think outside of their fortified and isolated gilded castle.

It has taken them 10 years to realize that people are getting tired of their arrogant, elitest attitude towards their ever degrading product quality control.

Let's face it ... Firefox really woke them up and showed them that a huge chunk of market share is just waiting for a valid alternative to their products.

Eventually there WILL be an OS to challange Windows; it is inevitable as was breaking Babe Ruth's 60 home runs in a single season record.

It could come out of the blue at any time like Firefox did, or it could take a few decades ... but it will happen.
