Spoofing is not the same as SPAM
SPAM is bad. It is assisted by the ease of forging email FROM addresses, but that does not mean that spoofing is wrong or bad.

Simple example. I connect to the internet via an ISP that provides what I consider value for money broadband services. However, I don't like their web hosting services, so I use another ISP for hosting my own domain.

Now, my email FROM address shows my domain where I want to receive my emails, not the domain of the SMTP server I use to send the mail. Your proposed solution would not permit this, even though it is a legitimate use of spoofing.

Refer to my earlier posting for my proposed approach.
