Anybody notice...
...that this week's two major security problems involve ActiveX. Security people have been howling at Microsoft to ditch ActiveX since at least 1997, yet MS refuses. Why? Because ActiveX is the key component in Microsoft's gameplan to capture the Web by locking users into IE-only browser functionality.

I can't take Microsoft's pronouncements of 'Trustworthy Computing' the least bit seriously until they scrap ActiveX. Until they do, all MS pronouncents are just a futile exercise in shameless public relations spinning.
