ActiveX exploits are why I'm using Firefox
At least 80% of the time. I got tired of fending off hijackers and aggressive ads that live in ActiveX land, not to mention the potential of nastier expoliters. There are some sites I visit that are IE specific and others that present HTML in a non-W3C-standard way so I have to use IE sometimes. The choice was to either turn off ActiveX entirely in IE or use Firefox/Mozilla and the tabbed browsing won out.

The problem for Microsoft here is that this problem is turning off long time evangelists for their cause, such as myself, and having us seek out or consider other solutions. They're getting faced with a choice of either breaking things or continuing to allow ActiveX to stick around with all it's warts. In a way, the EOLAS suit might be a blessing in disguise if it gives the cover to dump ActiveX from IE.
